The panel aims to analyze how new technologies affect gender rights on the internet and how feminist comparative constitutionalism can influence the development of new technologies. There is scientific evidence that the internet plays a dual role in the debate on gender equality.
While it enables new spaces for political articulation and the defense of gender rights, it also reinforces gender stereotypes and violence against women. Comparative constitutional law has a relevant role in this context, as it imposes the guarantee of the fundamental right to gender equality.
On these grounds, the panel aims to analyze how feminist comparative constitutional law can deal with gender rights in the digital era.
